Welcome to Dr. Funk’s Top 5 List for Educational Research! These video podcasts are intended to expose you to the use of podcasts for learning as they highlight the top 5 concepts you should focus on each week within our course. Please know that this is the very first video podcast I’ve ever produced. It is not perfect, but I think it is a good start!

Episode 2 - Summer 2008

Dr. Funk, How nice to meet another Dr. Funk who apparently is also working in higher education. I teach as an adjunct for Kaplan University and CSU Global Campus, teaching composition and communications totally in an online format.
I like to explore new technologies like podcasting and using audio to further the feelings of connectivity with my virtual students.
My Ph.D. is in Education with a specialty in Instructional Design of Online Learning. Mt dissertation research was all about retention of adult online learners.
I am enjoying helping design some online curriculum right now and then being allowed to teach the courses (in 2009) I revised!
I reside in the San Francisco Bay Area and enjoyed watching your podcast!
Warm regards, JoAnn T. Funk, Ph.D.
